ABACA 3 STAGE RACE SPONSORED BY ROBERTS CONSTRUCTION

1St Stage 5 mile Individual Time was ultimately won by Robert Marsh who completed the 5 mile course in 9:02 ahead of Jyme Bridges who produced a time of 9:19 to place 2nd. Marvin Spencer secured the 3rd spot after recording a time of 9:28. This first place victory gave Marsh a 16 seconds lead over Brides going into the 2nd stage.

Timothy Thomas won the B-Class 1st stage Time Trial producing a time of 10:08 ahead of Alvin Merrick won placed 2nd in a time of 10:32. Abevia McDonald placed 3rd in time of 10:38.
Tamiko Butler won the Female Time Trial in a time of 12:01, 10 seconds ahead of Lindsay Duffy who was 2nd in a time of 12:11. Dorothy Graham was 3rd in a time of 13:32.

2nd Stage place Saturday afternoon – 15 lap Circuit race. Daryl Christopher of Tortola broke away in the later part of the race to ride home by himself for the stage win. Christopher who is presently training in Antigua with Jyme Bridges entered the 2nd stage in 11th position. He won the 2nd stage in a time of 1:19.13 ahead of Marvin Spencer who was 2nd in a time of 1:19.17. Bridges placed 3rd in a time of 1:19.18 as he cut two seconds into Robert Marsh’s lead who placed 5th in a time of 1:19.20.

Abevia McDonald out sprinted Timothy Thomas in Saturday afternoon’s 11 lap B-Class Circuit race. Abevia won the 2nd stage in time of 57:37.2 after edging Timothy Thomas who was 2nd in a time of 57:37.5. John Henry, visiting brother of Wayne Henry was 3rd in time of 1:04.46 while Wayne was 4th.

Tamiko Butler won the female 5 lap 2nd Stage after completing the laps in a time of 42:39. Lindsay Duffy placed 2nd in time of 43:47 ahead of Dorothy Graham who placed 3rd in time of 50:35.
The 3rd and final stage took place on Sunday morning as the riders had the 40 mile road race to improve their time over their closest rivals. The race came down to a 4 men sprint with Omari King the victor. King closely out sprinted Jyme Bridges for the stage wins clocking a time of 1:55.35.12 to nip Bridges who had to settled for 2nd in a time of 1:55.35.17 ahead of Robert Marsh and Dale Richardson who was 3rd and 4th respectively. Robert Marsh didn’t lose any time to Jyme or to any other riders which kept him in the lead to win the race overall.

Robert Marsh emerged the overall winner of the 2010 ABACA 3 Stage Race sponsored by Roberts Construction.  Marsh accumulated the best time of all 3 stages to win in an overall time of 3:24. Jyme Bridges placed 2nd in a time of 3:24.15 ahead of Dale Richardson who started Sunday’s race in 5th position moved up to 3rd overall in recording a time of 3:24.49.

B-Class 40 mile Road Race was easily won by Abevia McDonald who beat his closest rival by over 13 minutes. Abevia won the stage in a time of 1:57.16 making him the B-Class winner. McDonald completed the 3 stages in time 3:05.32 ahead of Timothy Thomas who was 2nd in a time of 3:18.07. Wayne Henry was 3rd overall in rack up a time of 3:33.21.  A commendable ride came from Devon Norris although he was unable all the stages.

Tamiko Butler was the only person to win all 3 stages as she won Sunday’s 20 mile Female stage. Tamiko emerged as the overall female winner to rack up a time of 1:58.50; Lindsay Duffy was 2nd overall in a time of 2:03.19 while Dorothy Graham was 3rd in an overall time of 2:23.56.
