NATIONAL STUDENTS ATHLETES AWARDS CALL FOR NOMINATIONS Friday 5th July 2013
All are invited to participate in the 2012 / 2013 National Student/Athletes by submitting applications for suitably qualified persons for one or more of the following awards which will be presented to winners on Saturday, September 21, 2013.
The deadline for submissions is July 31, 2013. Please fill in this form and submit as soon as possible.
The details are provided below:
A. Date of the Award Ceremony: Saturday September 21, 2013
B. Venue of the Award Ceremony: Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium
C. Period under consideration: August 2012 – July 2013
D. Age Range under consideration: Under 18 years of age during the period under consideration
E. Types of Sports to be considered for awards:
a) Physical Sports – competitive sports requiring physical activity
b) Mind Sports – competitive sports requiring little or no physical activity to include card games and strategy board games,
F. Categories:
1. Top Female Student/Athlete of the Year - awarded to the female sportsperson who best demonstrates supreme athletic performance and achievement in the physical sports category.
2. Top Male Student/Athlete of the Year - awarded to the male sportsperson who best demonstrates supreme athletic performance and achievement in the physical sports category.
3. Mind Sports Student/Athlete of the Year - awarded to the sportsperson who best demonstrates supreme performance and achievement in the mind sports category.
4. School Sports Award (Primary) - awarded to the primary school which best demonstrates the use of sports and education as a platform for bringing about positive change among the youths at the school level in the various sporting categories.
5. School Sports Award (Secondary) - awarded to the secondary school which best demonstrates the use of sports and education as a platform for bringing about positive change among the youths at the school level in the various sporting categories
6. P.E. and Sports Teacher of the Year Award (Primary) - awarded to the primary school physical education or sports teacher who has played the most significant role in sports for the calendar year which includes going beyond the call of duty.
7. P.E. and Sports Teacher of the Year Award (Secondary) - awarded to the secondary school physical education or sports teacher who has played the most significant role in sports for the calendar year which includes going beyond the call of duty.
8. Sponsors Honour Roll – Recognition of sponsors who have demonstrated outstanding support for student/athletes programmes in the various sporting categories. Only ONE nominee per sporting discipline. There will be no overall winner in this category.
