STATUS ON ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA'S PARTICIPATION IN THE 4TH ALBA GAMES IN VENEZUELA
Friday 8th July 2011

 Attention: National Association Presidents

This serves to apologize sincerely for the delay in providing an update on Antigua and Barbuda's participation in the 2011 ALBA Games, scheduled to take place in Venezuela, July 17 - 30, 2011.

We appreciate your prompt willingness to participate in the event, but regret to advise that in spite of our best efforts to secure adequate funding to cover the costs associated with the participation of what would have been considered to be a reasonable group of athletes in the event, this has not materialized.

It has therefore been agreed, that in light of the strained fiscal resources on the national level that Antigua and Barbuda will not be in a position to participate in the Games this year. However, it is our intention to begin planning now for participation in next ALBA Games scheduled to take in 2013.

Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted

Sincerely

Sen. Hon. Winston Williams Jr.
