The Soccer Academy will host four (4) FA qualified coaches from Monday July 4th to Friday July 8th 2011, at its’ first Annual International Football Camp at the Sticky Wicket Stadium.
The coaching team will be led by Justin Cochrane, a former professional and current Academy Coach at English Premier Division Team Tottenham Hotspurs, Tim Zobbo – Head of Youth Development, Protec Football Academy, Aaron Julian Cato, former professional and Tottenham Hotspurs FC Academy and schools Coach and Bobby Cato who works closely with Justin. Antigua is familiar territory to Cochrane, having represented the nation at the Digicel Cup Final and in Martinique, and World Cup Qualifiers.
Speaking on holiday from Miami Justin said, “I am so delighted to be able to do this, to share my knowledge and experience as a player and now a Coach and to pass on valuable techniques and skills the children will enjoy.”
He added, “In the group is Aaron Cato, a Freestyle competitor in the UK, and he is always the favourite amongst the group, as he demonstrates, then teaches the children, all these wonderful tricks to do with the ball.” “We sincerely believe that at the end of the camp, the children will leave inspired and energised with skills that will make them much better players,” he confidently concluded.
All four Coaches work extensively with Youth Academy’s and Schools in the London area.
“This is a dream come true for the Soccer Academy, only in our second year of operation, said Mark Bowers Founder of the Academy. Our children are so positively energised, so hungry to learn new things that we decided to really push for this and Justin and his team agreed to come over in support of our efforts, give a clear assessment of the children and recommend ways for us to move forward,” said Bowers.
Bowers was also quick to acknowledge the support of some important players in delivering this programme, “We must first thank our Coaches and Parents for their efforts, Jolly Beach Resort, AVIS Car Rental, The Sticky Wicket Restaurant, Kennedy’s and Island Coolers.”
“We remain hopeful that a number of other interested Corporations will join this important effort in the coming days,” Bowers added.
The camp will run from 10am to 3.30pm daily with a charge of $375.00 per participant, to include refreshments, Water and Gatorade, daily snacks and instruction the fun way by FA qualified Coaches. Click here for all News and Specials for Sports, Trade, Industry and Commerce & Culture
