ABAVA 2011 LEAGUE - RANKING/STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 1
Tuesday 12th April 2011

On Sunday, April 10, 2011 the Enforcers seized the night by pummeling Stoneville to dust. In a remarkable finish, the first round of the 2011 ABAVA league concluded with a 3:1 victory for the Enforcers over defending champion Stoneville.

Once the whistle blew, the first set was over before long with the Enforcers making an early mark by winning 25:11. But it was too early to count Stoneville out as with the help of Mr. Frank Schwartz - long time veteran - and rock-solid plays, Stoneville made an exhilarating come back to break even the score. Unluckily Stoneville’s celebration would be premature as Xavier Robert, Brain Martin and Colin Thomas of the Enforcers with amazing kills and impressive block forced Stoneville under in both third and fourth sets, 25:17, 25:11 respectively.

Earlier in the female division, a disappointing no-show caused Starz B to forfeit to Jets for a 3:0 victory (25:0, 25:0, 25:0). Starz B was unable to meet the minimum requirement of players needed to compete. This forfeiture secured Jets at the number two spot in the league’s female division.
