RACERS BACK FROM ST. LUCIA SWIM MEET

The Wadadli Aquatic Racers are back from an end of the summer meet in St. Lucia hosted by the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre which was held over the week-end 26th – 28th August.  They scored 4th overall out of 11 teams with 567.50 points. The team of 10 swimmers recorded best times in many of the events they participated in.  The winner of the meet was The Southern Flying Fish Swim Team of St. Lucia (962 points), second place was Sharks, St. Lucia (822.50 points), third place was Tidal Wave Aquatics of Trinidad (734.5 points).

The Wadadli Racers were also among the high scoring swimmers as follows:
1st place -15 & over girls (Karin Clashing O’Reilly)
2nd place – 8 & under girls (Gabriella Gittens)
2nd Place – 9-10 girls (Samantha Roberts)
2nd Place – 13 – 14 boys (J’air Smith)
3rd Place – 15 & over boys (Kyle Zreibe)
4th place  - 9-10 boys (Daysher Samuel)

 Coach Edith Clashing was generally pleased with the results and indicated that this was part of the squad’s preparation for the OECS trials which will be held on the 24th and 25th September.  “There is still work to be done to improve some of the times in the various events to meet the OECS swim team selection criteria, but they are going in the right direction” she indicated.  Congrats to the team and good luck in the upcoming trials.
