TALENT SHOWCASING
The Fincham’s Follies is an annual variety show which takes place during the Antigua Charter Yacht Meeting.
In previous years this event took place in Nelson’s Dockyard to the side of the Copper and Lumber Store Hotel and also at Reef Gardens on Dockyard Drive and all proceeds on the door from ticket sales, food and drinks go to a community charity fund. The atmosphere is one of great fun and camaraderie with families, yachties and tourists all enjoying the fun filled evening.
In the past Fincham's Follies has provided funding towards numerous projects some of which include;
- Cobbs Cross medical Center, Cobbs Cross School Library, items for the Fiennes Institute, washing machines for the Amazing Grace Home, Sponsorship of flights for children to compete in sailing regattas and the Corner Playground which has been totally revamped with new equipment this year as well.
2009 was their 25th Anniversary year and they are celebrating with the completion of a fabulous new playground on Pigeon Beach. This community project has taken several years of fund raising through the show to materialize and is now in place as a new attraction for both local and visiting children to enjoy.
Fincham's Follies shows have always been great fun and brings the community together with the added bonus of fund raising for worthwhile causes.
