Crystal Business Solutions is pleased to announce the winners of its second annual Point and Villa Scholarship Award.
The Award seeks to provide opportunities to residents of the Point & Villa Community to continue their education, which is viewed by the Principals of Crystal Business Solutions as a critical success factor for empowering the lives of individuals, their families and the community as a whole. The Scholarships are all tenable via distance learning with Ashworth College in the United States. Crystal Business is able to provide the scholarships through its affiliation with Education for Advancement. All of the awardees had to submit a 150 word essay along with their application and must be from the Point and Villa Community.
The recipients for 2010 are Jessica Jackson – Diploma in Small Business Management, Kerie Meade – Diploma in Construction Management and Kelah Joseph – Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. Partial Scholarships were awarded to Wayne Richardson – Diploma in Computer Repairs and Igene Haywood – Diploma in Business Management.
The Awards ceremony was held during EFA Open House Week 2010 on Sunday 27 June. All the recipients are expected to begin their program shortly. The full scholarship covers tuition, course materials and exam from the College; tutorial and administrative support from the local office, Education for Advancement. The partial scholarships covers 50 percent of all the costs associated with the program, as well as tutorial and administrative support.
The first awardee, Tracey Hodge is completing her Diploma in Small Business Management.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting must be acknowledged for its support for the Scholarship Program through the provision of a fully loaded laptop computer which will be provided to one of the recipients upon enrolment.
