LA LOUPIOTE SHOW DRAWS CROWDS IN ENGLISH HARBOUR
Saturday 6th February 2010

The stage was set - at 6.00pm and 7.30 pm the dinghy dock at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina 300 people gathered to watch two shows performed by husband and wife team Franck and Delphine on board yacht La Loupiote last night.

Once the music started, silence descended, as collectively the crowd held their breath and watched the show - a mixture of comedy, acrobatics, circus and a large pinch of Cirque Du  Soleil. It's one of those rare moments when you feel truly humbled to watch something so beatutiful both from a performance point of view, and the obvisous implication of a husband and wife whose performance success and lives, literally depend on each others strength, precision of movement and sheer togetherness. At the end of the second show, Between Island and Wing, it seemed only fitting that they wrap their arms around each other surrounded by the strip of fabric on which their lives hung suspended, and embraced.

An interesting twist to the story is that after the event, the "hat" was sent around for poeple to donate to the couple, to allow them to continue their travels around the world perfoming, Last night the hat holders just happened to be the crew of yacht Liara, also docked at the moment, whose owner is non other than the founder of Cirque Du Soliel. Before this week they had not met each other.......such a small world.

Enjoy the images - the movement, dark and distance proved a challenge, but they convey the beauty.
