SANDALS FOUNDATION’S CRICKET ACADEMY COMES TO A CLOSE Wednesday 28th July 2010
With the rapid deterioration of cricket in the West Indies at the professional level, the Sandals Foundation launched a Cricket Academy on July 19. The two-week academy featured 26 under-15 cricketers who were carefully chosen by the Ministry of Sports. These boys were guided by internationally renowned coaches and referees. They participated in a variety of athletic drills and educational workshops on a daily basis in order to harness their cricketing skills. The closing ceremony takes place at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium on Friday, July 30 at 3pm. The undertaking is a joint initiative between the Sandals Foundation and the Ministry of Sports.
A representative from your establishment is therefore invited to attend and provide coverage.
About the Sandals Foundation
The Sandals Foundation was launched in March 2009 to continue the philanthropic work that Sandals Resorts International has been dedicated to for almost three decades. Three focus areas of Community, Education and the Environment underpin a singular objective to make a difference in the lives people across the Caribbean. This is achieved by investing in community projects, educational programs and environmental preservation on the islands where we operate. From adopting schools and conducting health screenings to supporting local farmers and cleaning up beaches, we aim to unite the region under common goals - to elevate our people and protect our delicate ecosystem.
