Press Release– Patients who receive care at the Sickle Cells Centre located on the Holberton Hospital compound, will be treated in comfort thanks to the efforts of Sandals Grande Antigua Report and Spa.

On Friday, a group from the resort led by General Manager Gaurav “Mr. G” Sindhi donated a number of items to the unit. These included linen, kitchen wares, and bathroom amenities, among other much needed supplies.

In handing over the gifts, Mr. G explained that, “Sandals regards health as a priority area which we need to support and so when we saw the request for assistance, it was a welcomed opportunity to make our small contribution which will benefit those patients.”

He added, “We believe that even under the circumstances all persons deserve to be comfortable and so the bed and bathroom linen along with the electronic items will go a long way in making this possible. This partnership will not end here; we will do as much as we can to ensure our people receive the best type of healthcare.”

Accepting the donation on behalf of the unit was Sickle Cell Clinic Nurse Bernice Piggot. She expressed appreciation to the Sandals team for always answering the call of those who need support.

“We are grateful for these items and they will go a long way in making what we want to do here at the Sickle Cells Centre a reality. We still have some work to carry out before the centre becomes operational but this is a start and we are grateful to Sandals for its assistance.”

The handing over of the supplies comes on the heels of a major facelift on the building and surrounding areas.
