The Children at the Mount St. John’s Pediatric Ward were treated to a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny on Wednesday. Members of the Sandals Foundation engaged in an Easter Egg Hunt with the playful children who enjoyed the company of the Easter Bunny. The kids were thrilled to paint colourful eggs and make Easter cards for their loved ones. Hospital Administrator Carol Scholar said that the event was a huge success. “It is great to see members of the Sandals Foundation interacting with children and helping to brighten up their day. This is what community outreach is all about,” commented Scholar. The Sandals Foundation’s Anne Harewood echoed her sentiments and said, “It must be difficult for these children to spend their Easter holidays in the hospital. We didn’t want their illness to deprive them of the joys and festivities that come with Easter.”

Adorned with bunny ears, the children were eager to pose for photos and taste their treats.  Hospital staff and parents were able to partake in the activities. More than a dozen Sandals Foundation volunteers were on hand to participate in the event.
