Monday 28th February 2011
Blushing Bride Cassandra Sturt and gallant groom Paul Sturt were married at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa on November 10, 2010.
Sandals Resorts International, the operator of two all-inclusive resorts in Antigua, triumphed over some of the world’s highest profile hotel brands to be named as the top all-inclusive company by leading bridal magazine, Brides, this week.
Sandals’ Chairman and Founder Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart believes that the award compliments the already highly-regarded honeymoon reputation of Antigua and paid tribute the Antiguan people for the huge role they play in the company’s continued success.
“Antigua was the first island we ventured when we left Jamaica for the first time and it has been a remarkable relationship filled with great experiences ever since. As a destination it just keeps getting better and better and as a honeymoon destination offers everything a bride and groom could ever want. This latest award by Brides is thanks to a unique combination of the luxury product that Sandals offers here and the romance and charm of the country and the people as a whole. The vibrant culture and the breathtaking scenery sets the tone for a perfect wedding location,” adds the Sandals Chairman.
The Sandals founder was also full of praise for the employees of the two Sandals group resorts in Antigua, citing them as among ‘the best in the hospitality industry’. “We are the largest private sector employer in Antigua and this award is testament to each and every one of our employees, not to mention the support of the Antiguan government and local communities. Thanks go also to the people of Antigua for helping us become number one. Awards such as these do not happen by accident, it represents a huge team effort both on and off the resort and everyone plays their part,” remarked Stewart.
Brides Magazine, the world’s leading bridal publication, also named Sandals’ latest addition to its portfolio of luxury hotels, Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas, as the as the top Caribbean resort for 2011, representing an even more impressive accolade as the resort just celebrated its first year anniversary this month, an almost impossible feat in such a short space of time.
Sandals Resorts International, the largest earner of foreign currency in Antigua, has become the most recognized brand to emerge from the Caribbean thanks to a combination of marketing efforts, numerous awards wins and constant product innovation. The awards highlight the strength of the Sandals brand and the unwavering standards and product at each of the resorts. Part of this success is due to the exclusive partnerships with other respected brands, providing guests with more quality inclusions than anyone else on the planet. The latest collaboration saw the introduction of Sandals® Weddings by Martha Stewart™. With six exquisite wedding themes, in the most romantic settings, Sandals Weddings by Martha Stewart feature coordinated color palettes, beautifully designed wedding décor, complementary bouquets, invitations, cakes and favours, along with à la carte items, creating a memorable experience to suit every couple’s unique preferences.
