DISCOVERY 4 - CAN YOU HANDLE IT?
Tuesday 16th August 2011

When you ask Jon "Gilly" Gill, owner of Premier Motors Antigua, why you should invest in a Land Rover, his automatic response is "They're just lovely, with everything you could possibly want". Your initial feeling is that he's cracking a joke, but anyone who has spent more than ten minutes talking to Gilly will vouch for the fact that he is deadly serious and really is a car enthusiast who happens to do his dream job, selling Land Rovers.

Nothing short of passionate, Gilly can expound for as long as you've got about the different options available and benefits thereof, of the sleek range of robust cars which suit Antigua's less then smooth roads like a glove.

Specifically configured for the tough on cars Antiguan climate, the British vehicles he imports are programmed to deal with poor quality fuel, ambient moisture levels and high temperatures. If you've never bought a Land Rover, what you probably don't know is that literally every car off the production line is custom fitted in terms of the interior and extras so you really do only get what you pay for, and no need to pay for gadgets you'll never use.

Of the newest Discovery 4, murmurings of "It's a thing of great beauty"
give you an idea of what they are all about. All the usual ability to handle the tough terrain in complete luxury are included but what makes the Discovery 4 (or Disco 4 as it's referred to) so much better is the sequential twin turbo charged engine (that means it uses the first turbo, then the second turbo) which gives it an impressive 25% more power and 10% better fuel economy than the Disco 3, along with a new interior which makes it more user friendly and no less than 7 front facing seats, meaning it is a fantastic people carrier.

And Gilly's final comment, "If you are buying a house on a less than smooth track, but want to travel in the utmost comfort, then this is the car for you. In fact it should be compulsory!"
