HILLHOUSE INVITED TO NATURE ISLE LITERARY FESTIVAL
Friday 10th August 2012

Antiguan and Barbudan novelist, Joanne C. Hillhouse will be one of the featured writers at the fifth Nature Island Literary Festival and Book Fair to be held this weekend, August 09 to 12 in Roseau, Dominica.

Hillhouse, whose novel ‘Oh Gad’ has been receiving rave reviews is honoured to be invited: “It’s always an honour to be invited to festivals especially one in the Caribbean that will feature luminaries as George Lamming and Elizabeth Nunez”.

She adds that such events are inspiring for both the established and unpublished writer: “Most writers work in isolation, so it is always good to meet up with other writers, exchange ideas and discuss our craft”.

The Nature Isle Literary Festival and Book Fair will begin on Thursday, August 09, however, the opening ceremony will take place on Friday, August 10 and the guest speaker will be Professor George Lamming. There will then be two days of workshops, panel discussions and readings.

Hillhouse has had a very busy schedule since the Antiguan launch of ‘Oh Gad!’ and has also attended a book release event organised by the Friends of Antigua Public Library in New York, presented at the Association of Caribbean Women Writers and Scholars 13th annual conference in Suriname, and read from the book at Brown University where she was a participant of at the Texas A & M’s Callaloo Writers conference.
