Tuesday 30th October 2018, 11:00 am.
Sign up with Nicole's Table for the Cooking with Rum Class on Tuesday, October 30th at 11am.
The class explores the history of rum in the islands, how it is made, and the various foods and drinks it underpins. You will be walked through on how to make their rum punch, the starter, the main, and then appropriately wrap up with a rum rich dessert. It is a Caribbean cooking class with real spirit! (Pun intended)
Various rums will be present for tasting and flavoring the foods. Since we are in Antigua, you will start with the island award winning 5-year old English Harbour rum and then move on to three other superb brands from neighboring islands.
The menu will introduce guests to how various rums can be used to flavor foods; whether you are using a classic dark rum or a filtered white. The menu, which depends on the availability for certain ingredients, is likely to include-
Cocktails: Nicole's Old Fashioned Rum Punch along with an "Around the Islands" rum sampler.
Appetizer: Sweet Potato Soup.
Main Course: Grilled Steak with a rum BBQ glaze, roasted plantains, rice, garlic, roasted cauliflower, and Nicole's crunchy rainbow salad.
Dessert: Butter rum cake or bread pudding with a butter rum sauce
