Through the use of its secure telephone number 800-TIPS (8477) Crime Stoppers Antigua provides a safe, secure and anonymous way for people to report crimes, without fear of the consequences.
Run by a board of ten people within the community, the organisation relies on funds from its partners and sponsors, in order to ensure that everyone within Antigua and Barbuda trusts that they can call Crime Stoppers to pass on any infomration they may have pertaining to a crime and the call will not be traced.
Crime Stoppers use all methods available to communicate the message and the phone line 800-TIPS (8477), and need your help in doing this.
We believe that people and their communities have the right to live without crime and without the fear of crime.
When crime does take place, we believe that anybody who knows those responsible should go to the police. However, many people who want to take action are close to the criminal and fear retribution. Crime Stoppers offers them the secure means for them to get that information to the police, making their families and communities safer.
Our vision is for everybody in Antigua and Barbuda, and everybody who knows anything about crimes that affect Antigua and Barbuda, to know and trust Crime Stoppers and for us to make sure we have the capability to receive the information from them, and pass it to the appropriate law enforcement agency, guaranteeing the security of the caller, through anonymity.
The wonderful thing about Crime Stoppers is that WE as a community work together to provide information to the police, to help improve the quality of OUR lives, and reduce crimes in ALL of OUR communities from our children to our grand parents remember the number. That way when they witness a crime, they can immediately call Crime Stoppers, most importantly ANONYMOUSLY, and help to eradicate crime from thier neighbourhood.
