DUJON AND STEPHENSON FOR INET INTERNATIONAL PAIRS GOLF TOURNAMENT
Monday 6th September 2010

Former West Indies cricketer and cricket commentator Jeffrey Dujon will join golf–pro and former cricketer, Franklyn Stephenson as the guest golfers at this year’s INET International Pairs Antigua and Barbuda to be held on September 11 at the Cedar Valley Golf Course. The duos participation follows on the hugely successful involvement of Brian Lara and Dwight Yorke in 2009.
Dujon, one of the West Indies’ most accomplished wicket-keepers with 81 Test appearances is now an avid golfer with a very handy 6 handicap.

Stephenson is presently the golf-pro at the prestigious Sandy Lane Golf Club in Barbados, having retired from cricket in 1997 -  having played first class cricket in the Caribbean, England, Australia and South Africa. In 2009, he created history at Legend Golf & Safari Resort in South Africa by becoming the first person to birdie the longest par-three in golf – the now-famous Extreme 19th Hole. He is a scratch player!

Both Dujon and Stephenson expressed their delight at being asked to participate in this prestigious event and are looking forward to playing against some of Antigua and Barbuda’s top amateur golfers including Dujon’s former captain, Sir Vivian Richards.
The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority have fully endorsed the INET International Pairs event, and are coordinating the arrangements for the duo. The event’s official Automobile partner, Antigua Motors Ltd., will provide transportation.

Dujon and Stephenson, although unable to represent Antigua and Barbuda at the International Pairs World Final to be held October 06 – 08 at Loch Lomond, Scotland, are anxiously looking forward to putting on a good show at the event, to be televised live on ABS TV.
