ANTIGUANICE PARTNERING WITH OBSERVER MEDIA GROUP Friday 29th October 2010
On Saturday, 13 November, Observer Publications will premier a new bi-weekly publication that will provide visitors to the island with listings of events and features on Antigua and Barbuda hotels, restaurants, tours and attractions. Titled “Enjoy! Antigua and Barbuda,” the full-colour magazine will be available at no cost to tourists and distributed through hotels, restaurants and shops.
For the calendar, Observer has partnered with Antiguanice.com, which will provide daily listings of events, special offers and entertainment for the two-week period covered by each issue. The remainder of the publication will be filled with photos and copy provided by Observer’s Special Projects Coordinator K.C. Nash and the Observer staff.
“This is something that we have been discussing for some time,” says Observer Publications Chairman Winston Derrick. “With the new tourist season about to begin, we thought it was an ideal time to begin the project. We feel it will give advertisers—and especially tour operators, restaurants and car rental agencies--a new direct source of promotion to the traveling public.”
Through a timely coincidence, Antigua Nice was approached by Observer at a time when they were thinking about the same type of publication. “We gather a great deal of information from our clients to build our daily listings, so it seemed like a natural extension to put this information in an easy-to-use form for visitors,” says Alison Sly-Adams. “And who better to partner with than Observer, since they produce a daily newspaper and have the printing facilities in-house.”
To send materials for possible inclusion in feature stories or listings, contact K.C. Nash at kcnash@antiguaobserver.com, or call 268-725-9146. Advertisers interested in the publication should contact the Observer sales staff at 481-9100.
