ASW - LAST MINUTE CHARTER OPPS & IMPORTANT EVENT INFO
Thursday 7th April 2016

Bareboat and Race Charters Still Available
It’s not too late to participate in the 2016 edition of the Caribbean’s most famous regatta.  There are still some exciting race charter opportunities available on some hot racing boats – both individual crew places and whole boat options.  And bareboat sponsor Sunsail still has a couple of boats available for whole boat charter.  For details, check out the race charter pages of the website here.

Online Entries and Fees
There are now only three weeks to go to the start of Antigua Sailing Week 2016.  The entry list looks great this year with old friends and new, excited about our 49th annual regatta. If you haven’t yet entered, now is the time. If you have entered, it very much speeds up the Registration process if you pay your entry fees online here by no later than Friday, April 15.  You can also stop by the ASW office upstairs at Antigua Yacht Club Marina to pay your entry fee.  Don’t forget that entry fees go up from US $12 per foot to US $14 per foot for any entries not paid by April 15!

Crew Waivers
Section 3.7 of the Notice of Race requires all crew to complete a waiver prior to racing.  Owners or skippers should set up a crew list in the online entry system and email all crew reminding them to complete a waiver.  The number of goodies allocated for skippers’ bags (like Presidente beer and English Harbour Rum hats) is based on the number of crew waivers received for each boat and we don't want anyone to miss out on their goodies!

Round Antigua Race
The optional Round Antigua Race will be held on Saturday, April 23, a day before the full week of racing gets underway.  It’s a great opportunity to see the entire island of Antigua from the water and it encompasses all points of sail so provides great practice for race crews.  And the added bonus is that it’s scored separately from the week’s racing so it’s a great shake-down opportunity!  If you haven’t yet entered the Round Antigua Race, you can enter here. The entry fee is only US $2 a foot!

Royal Southern Yacht Club Inter-Yacht Club Challenge
This year will see the 2nd annual Royal Southern Yacht Club Inter-Yacht Club Challenge.  The Challenge was very well received in its first year with 11 teams participating.  Last year’s winner was the Guernsey Yacht Club on board Ross Applebey’s Scarlet Oyster.  More information about the Challenge and full rules can be found here. There’s no cost involved and the Royal Southern Yacht Club has donated a beautiful trophy for the winning yacht club.  Why not enter for an opportunity to take home not only the trophy but bragging rights as well?  To enter contact roc@sailingweek.com.

Luciano to Headline at ASW

Antigua Sailing Week (ASW) is proud to announce that Jamaican roots reggae sensation Luciano will be the headline act on the main stage in Nelson's Dockyard on Tuesday 26th April. The Johnnie Walker Your World & Mine Concert will also feature home grown Antiguan talent:  Soca Diva Claudette Peters and R&B and soca star Tian Winter with Cheeze Kake Factory and M & M Music. The event is the big night that will form part of the week-long party atmosphere of Antigua Sailing Week.

VIP tickets are available with access to an exclusive area at the Copper & Lumber Store. The famous bar and restaurant in Nelson's Dockyard will have a private viewing area for the concert with catering from the restaurant. The VIP Bar will be pouring Johnnie Walker Red, Black, Double Black, Gold and Platinum with a feature toast of Johnnie Walker Blue Label. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for the all-inclusive Restaurant and Bar service.

Tickets can now be purchased on-line at www.sailingweek.com. Tickets will also be on sale at the ASW Office and ASW Box Office at Antigua Yacht Club from Thursday 21st April.

Advance Tickets - US$30 / EC$80. (Groups of six or more are reduced at US$25 / EC$70 per person)
Door Tickets US$40 / EC$100
VIP Tickets – US$80 / EC$200

If you are racing and have guests or friends who are not as fortunate, we recommend they book a day out on the Half Moon Bay Specatator Boats.  On Sunday April 24th, they can experience racing up close on the water while enjoying lunch and drinks on our Half Moon Bay sponsored catamarans.  For more information and tickets click here.

With only three weeks to go until the 49th Antigua Sailing Week gets underway, there is definitely excitement in the air!  We look forward to seeing you soon.
