DONATE TO CATHEDRAL RESTORATION PROJECTThursday 26th August 2010
On Sunday October 10th 1847, the Church under license from the Bishop was open for public worship. The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine is no stranger to the ravages of time, and over the years have seen its fair share of necessary repair and restoration work as a result of natural disasters and normal wear and tear. With a building within a building, the maintenance is doubled as "two buildings" must be constantly assessed for damages following each natural calamity, as well as exercising vigilance against potential arson and other damages directly or accidentally inflicted due to social unrest or extremism.
The Restoration Committee is charged with raising funds and supervising the restoration project. The Committee has provided you with several avenues through which donations towards the restoration of the Cathedral can be made made.
