THE HEART OF NELSON'S DOCKYARD
Located in the heart of Nelson’s Dockyard, right on the water’s edge – The Galley Bar was established over 21 years ago and has grown from a small bar into a very popular bar and restaurant. We are open throughout the whole year and our opening hours only change slightly to acknowledge the seasons.
At The Galley Bar, we serve food throughout the day and our current galley is located where Nelson’s kitchen actually stood - hence the name. For breakfast we offer a selection from full English to just coffee and toast; for lunch and evening meals we offer seafood; salads; steak; burgers; sandwiches etc.
We have a fully stocked premium and low shelf bar; draught; bottled and light beers; sodas; smoothies; local juices; teas and a variety of coffees. Sunday evenings are a great time to visit us when we have a delicious BBQ and live entertainment with either Best of Jazz (with Roland Prince) or Kentish and Friends – if you’re a budding musician or singer, you can join with the resident artists and really make the party swing!
Seeped in history with a touch of the modern day – a TV for all the big games – it’s a great place to people watch and what better location to view some of the world’s most magnificent yachts. Join us for breakfast, for lunch, for drinks or for dinner – at The Galley Bar you’ll find a great welcome and fantastic atmosphere any time, day or night. We look forward to seeing you soon.
