“Home from home” - Reviewed March 16, 2014

We had a pleasure to stay in Alagana House in March. It took me many weeks to find a property which will have perfect location, look, facilities & of course the superb view. It is difficult to note all the things which makes this house a great choice for family. The house consist of 3 very large double bedrooms, each had ensuite bathroom. The leaving space on the 1st floor was an open area which was the heart of this house. The kitchen had a super long b/fast bar where we all had our morning coffee. The star in this house was main terrace with breathtaking view on the English harbour & stunning sky blue sea. It was truly the most amazing view we had experience in Caribbean. The pool with sun loungers was an additional asset to this property, and the grounds were super clean & stunning. We had a garage which was great to keep our car in a shade. Also there was American washing & a dryer machine which came handy during our vacation. We never felt as if we were on the top of each other due to large gardens around the house.

The kitchen was just superb, you will found all utilities you have in your own home from glasses, plates, pots & pan to veg piller. The owner even thought about providing basis such as beach cooling bag , milk, bread, cooking spices and forgetting a super bottle of Champagne - which was a great touch.

The property is being looked after by Rambo - he is the gardner, however he keeps different huts depending on your needed. He is very friendly & happy to answer any questions you may have. The house also comes with housekeeper service, she come Mon-Fri however you can cancel her if you don't require her services. We had as we felt having someone wondering for 6hr a day it was taking our privacy away.

The house deco is great - Caribbean yet elegant & stylish. There are many personal things around the house which belongs to its owner Peter, but those things made this house feel so homely it was like visiting a relative home. Peter big congrats on making this property such a stunning place!!
The house has been build on the steepest hill we had ever experienced - going up with a car was an experience and a half first time but we got used to it. You will need 4WD no other car will handle getting up especially if you have 5 people & cases in a car- so I would highly recommend hiring one. You will need a car to get to beaches which were superb. Our fav was "Darkwood Beach".

Anna she is an estate agent who looks after this property for Peter (as he at the sea a lot) she will be your point of contact durning your stay.
Despite the fact we have had few problems with house alarm, some lights weren't working (all those things were fixed during our stay) the truth is not all guests report problems to Rambo so next visitors need to deal with those things. I'm sure after our stay all major issues were fixed.
After 9 days it was time to pack&and head for the airport. We were sad to leave behind incredible views, surrounding and Antiguan people but we will return soon.
