CEDAR GROVE BLUE JAYS FOOTBALL TEAM IN NEED OF SPONSORSHIP
Tuesday 18th June 2019

To owners and management,

I am writing this letter on behalf of the Cedar Grove Blue Jays Football Team to let you know that we have just qualified for the First Division of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA).

This is the first time in Cedar Grove Football History that the team has ever reached the First Division and it's a historical moment for our community and players. We finished the 2nd Division league almost undefeated (playing 20, winning 17, drawing 2 and losing 1 match). We finished at the top of the table to gain promotion and we also played in a 1 match final for the 2nd Division Championship, winning 1 to 0 against Bolans. The Golden Boot award is expected to go to one of our 2 players who both scored 20+ goals and will be decided next week at the award ceremony.

Our team consists of a mix of both Cedar Grove players (mainly) and players from a wide range of villages across Antigua. We have a total of 30 players, with ages ranging from 11 to 46. The upcoming season starts in September (2019) and ends in March (2020). The Head Coach of the team is George Warmer who has coached the Under 20 National Team, been a part of the coaching team for the National Senior squad, and coached two teams that have won the Premier Division Championship (Sap and Bassa). He has also been the Head Coach of the Antigua Grammar School for 25 years. We are now in the process of working out a vigorous training schedule for the team which will start in early July.

After being successful in the 2nd Division and making the big step up to the 1st Division there are some financial challenges which we are approaching you for help with. Below are some of the costs that we are expected to cover with very limited support.

For the 2019/2020 season from July to March these are most of the predicted costs in EC$.

  • Coach - $10,000
  • Physiotherapist - $6,000
  • Uniforms - $6,000
  • Equipment - $5,000
  • Transportation - $2,000
  • Water - $1,000
  • Total - EC$30,000

We are hoping that you will be able to assist us financially to cover some of these costs. You would be helping the team and players out more than you could imagine. We will keep you updated on the progress and would feature your company logo in our monthly newsletter that we do hope to start and push digitally (through email, social media and whats ap broadcasts). We ask for any contribution your company is able to make (small or large) to help cover our costs.

We would like to thank you for reading this and please feel free to contact us with any questions or for more information. Please contact Mark Ryan (Secretary for the Blue Jays) at (268) 736-9047 or by email at mark.ryan.antigua@gmail.com. Wish us LUCK!
