OLIVIER DEFENDS AUA TINMAN ROHR TITLE
Tuesday 26th August 2014

Olivier Noglotte of Guadeloupe successfully defended his title in the 3rd annual AUA Tinman Rohr Triathlon held at Morris Bay on Saturday August 23rd.

Noglotte was given a strong challenge by Cuban cyclist Vincente Sanabria in the 70.3 mile half ironman race – which involved a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run. Sanabria came out of the water over 11 minutes behind Noglotte but caught up to him at the end of the 56 mile bike ride and went into the run in first place. But in an enthralling encounter Noglotte pushed the pace on the run to open up a gap of several minutes on the Cuban, leaving Sanabria to settle for second place. Ancil Greene of Trinidad & Tobago secured the third spot, with the USA’s Jeff Emmons in fourth and Antigua & Barbuda’s Timothy Thomas in fifth. Thomas also secured the title of first Antiguan & Barbudan.
