MORRIS AND JACOBS OFF TO BRYANT STRATTON Monday 26th August 2013
Two of Antigua/Barbuda’s young and promising athletes have been granted scholarships to attend the Bryant Stratton College in Syracuse, New York.
Although, much information has not been forthcoming from the Antigua/Barbuda Football Association (ABFA), the agent responsible for sourcing the scholarships, the two athletes are footballers, Khadijah Morris of the Wings Sports Club and Kai Jacobs of 5P’s Football Club.
The two female footballers were due to travel on Sunday, August 25, for the USA.
Morris (left) recently graduated from the Christ the King High School gaining the Most Outstanding Athlete Award of the School. Morris ran track and played football for her school and the Wings Sports Club.
Morris has won several awards, particularly, as a sprinter in Track for her school & Club and has represented Antigua/Barbuda in Football at the Female Youth level. She was also selected to the CPTSA All Tournament Team in 2012.
Kai Jacobs (belwo) is a graduate of the St. Anthony’s Secondary School. She is a prolific striker and has won several awards at football.
Jacobs has represented Antigua/Barbuda at the National Youth level and had been selected to the CPTSA Female Football Tournament All Tournament Team in 2012.
The ABFA must be commended for sourcing the scholarships for several of Antigua/Barbuda’s Footballers, over the years.
Special recognition should be given to the 5P’s Coaching staff, for the coaching of Jacobs and to Thaddeus Price and Barbara Coates of the Wings Youth Football unit for their work and en-couragement to Morris. The CPTSA would like to say Thank you to Gwen Salmon of the ABFA. Click here for all News and Specials for CPTSA Wings Sports Club
