Lenny Quashie at WYF Practice |
The Wings Youth Football Program has just recently acquired the coaching services of one of Antigua/Barbuda’s prolific footballers and former National player, Lenny Quashie.
Due to the number of youth, both boys and girls at practice on Saturday mornings, Chairperson of the Wings Youth Football Unit, Barbara Coates, decided to speak with Quashie, both, members of the same church.
Quashie an enthusiast for youth football, readily agreed to give the program a helping hand. Although, the program still retains the services of Ijahba Codrington and Thaddeus Price, the involvement of Quashie is an added plus to the coaching staff. Quashie brings to the table an impressive resume’.
Although a native of St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Quashie played for the once formidable Empire FC from 1993—2007, but came out of retirement for Empire’s last two recent games to help the ailing club. Quashie played for the Antigua National team from 1992—1995, and received a football scholarship to John Brown University where he played for one year before moving to Concordia,in Portland, Oregon for the final three years. He graduated with a Degree in Business Administration.
Quashie is a retired Acting Superintendent of the Antigua & Barbuda Police Force and a member of the Executive of the Empire Football Club.
