Star Girls Shackle Police in CPTSA Female Football Tournament

The 10th Annual CPTSA Female Football Tournament, sponsored by Hutchinson (Antigua) Ltd., and the Antigua/Barbuda Social Security Board, continued at the Johnson’s Football Stadium on Saturday, October 29, 2011, with a doubleheader. In a much improved display, Star Girls moved the ball around diligently to evade the Police women and created numerous chances.

However, of their 24 shots on goal, many of them off target, the Star girls could only find the net four (4) times. Instead, the Defending Champions returned to the second half in almost similar style as the first, hitting two quick goals from Britney Jacobs and Anya DeCourcy.

The Wings retreaded, opening more opportunities for the 5P’s, and allowing Jacobs to hit home another to give her a tally of 4 goals. Anya De- Courcy ended with 3 goals to give a final score of 5P’s 7, Wings 1. The second goal came just five minutes later, from near the side line, almost square with the Wings’ goal that deceived custodian, Jernine Browne . However, Wings, who seemingly looked as though caught off guard,
