MAGINLEY ADVANCES TO THE DOUBLES SEMI FINALS
Friday 17th August 2012

As the SVG Junior international tournament continued some success came for team Antigua & Barbuda as Jody Maginley & his doubles partner Alex Rybakov (USA) advanced to the doubles semi finals.  Maginley & Rybakov defeated Patrick Graham(GBR), Oscar Janglin (SWE) in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.
 

Today however, The doubles duo was not as successful in their bid for a spot in the
finals as they were ousted by #3 seeded doubles team of William Flavell (GBR)/ Stephan
FrlJanic(CAN) 6-3, 6-4.
 
In the under 14 competition Jessica Issac exited the girls singles semifinals after a three set defeat by Nicola Ramdyhan (GUY). Ramdhyan secured the finals spot after taking out Isaac in three sets 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
 
further defeat came for Isaac in the doubles competition. Isaac and her doubles partner Luka
Lyttle (VIN) received a BYE into the doubles semi finals but lost ground in the  doubles semifinals
competition against Denee Lyttle and Chelsea Haslam(VIN)  losing  6-4, 4-6 (5-10).
 
Justice Christopher playing in the boys consolation singles competition too lost his ground
yesterday in his quarterfinals consolation match.  Christopher lost to  Luke Browne (VIN)
4-1, 4-2
 
Jr. Player Shakir Elvin and D'jeri Raymond moves on to the Tobago ITF tournament which is
schedule to start  qualifiers on Saturday 18th Aug, 2012.
 
It has been a long summer for our juniors as they returned home this evening.  There was
success for some and learning curves for others.  We thank the National Olympic committee
for their support of these juniors and their commitment to continue in their development.
We thank the parents who know the benefits of these juniors competing at this high level.
 
We thank Mrs. Erica Williams who has been coach, mother and chapperon for these athletes, We thank the Ministry of sports for assisting with tax exemptions;  We also thank Raeburn's Generator Services who came on board to assist D'Jeri Raymond in her time of need.
 
The tour is not done as Shakir Elvin & D'Jeri Raymond will move on to the Tobago ITF tournament which is schedule to start qualifiers on Saturday 18th August, 2012.
