If like me you have lived a life in acceptance that no matter what mascara or products you use, you are destined to have unremarkable eye lashes, you are in for a big surprise.
On entering the cool treatment room in St. Johns, Liene, who is super friendly, enquires as to the kind of look you are going for. If like me you had not given this any thought, and your initial feeling is one of panic with images of Liza Minelli flashing through your mind, you are quickly made to feel at ease. Xtreme lashes have an eyelash to suit every requirement from super super natural, to …..well Xtreme. You can choose different shapes, from the J curl to something less obvious, and your own or a mascara colour.
For me that I didn’t go too over the top, although I didn’t want to take the risk of being too natural and not seeing the difference. Once the decision is made, you lie back and that’s it, eyes closed for two hours, cool laid back funky tunes playing, and the option to chat or not to chat.
The actual process of each eyelash being separated from the others, and an extension being applied, feels more like a breeze fluttering over your eyelashes. It’s intensely relaxing, and at the end of the first two hour session, I felt very rested. Once you open your eyes, Liene offers you a mirror to review your new look. I have to say at first I wasn’t sure how different it looked, having forgotten my lack of lashes before, but the reality sets in when you wake up bleary eyed the next morning, and there in in the mirror are a flawless set of lashes framing your eyes and visibly making you look more together than usual.
Probably the biggest benefit, not being a big make up user anyway, is knowing I can run out of the house not even thinking about whether I have make up on or not. It's also definitely had a simlar impact to a new haircut also, I feel more 'sassy' like I've had a bit of a makeover.
They would be perfect as part of your wedding preparations, just imagine, you wouldn't have to worry about tears making your mascara run, and are the perfect way to do low maintenance make up when on your honeymoon or holiday.
A FEW TIPS
Because the adhesive needs twenty four hours to dry properly to ensure the lashes are as strong as possible, Liene advises you not to get them wet, rub them, or lie on your face when sleeping, so make sure you plan your visit when you can do this.
You also are advised not to use oil products on your eyes, as that can destablise the lashes, so you may need to look at any eye make up removal products you use to ensure they don’t damage.
Other than that, what can I say, having my lashes I will be back for my touch ups every few weeks, and Xtreme Lashes will become one of my ‘Guilty Pleasures’ that my husband doesn’t NEED to know about! |
