OECS CULTURAL INDUSTRIES WORKSHOP TO BE HELD Monday 11th August 2014
The OECS Export Development Unit (OECS/EDU) is pleased to announced the resumption of national workshops on “Development of Human Capacity in the OECS Cultural Industries:Entrepreneurship, Strategic Development and Management (ESDM) Training Platform”. This workshop, originally scheduled for May 13-14, 2014 will now be held on August 14-15, 2014 at the Heritage Hotel, St. John’s.
The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Jo-anne Tull, Lecturer in Carnival Studies at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad & Tobago. The two-day workshop is targeted at leaders and managers of enterprises in the Creative Industries Sector mainly in the music/entertainment, film/audio-visual, handicraft and fashion subsectors. It is expected to provide participants with a greater awareness and understanding of business and enterprise development models for work in this vital sector, as well as to find creative ways for collaboration and collective action that will help to drive the sector to new levels of competitiveness.
Participants will be expected to pay a registration fee of EC$50 at the start of the workshop on Thursday, August 14.
