As with most businesses not
only in Antigua but world wide, we are conscious of the
impact we have on the environment. We accept that
by wrote of running an Internet business, computers have
a major negative impact environmentally, but also accept
that computers are now a part of daily life worldwide,
and in fact of major importance, especially for small
islands like Antigua, in terms of marketing and raising
awareness of the island, and therefore directly
impacting the increase in the standard of living for
many residents.
With
over 360,000 people visiting our website yearly from all
over the world, we know we have a small voice that we
should be using to raise awareness how and where we can
about the small things we can all do that make a
difference.
THINK
BEFORE YOU PRINT
As from
Tuesday 18th September, 2007 the bottom of
every web page on
www.antiguanice.com will have the phrase ‘THINK
BEFORE YOU PRINT’. All we ask is you DO. We are all
guilty of printing out reams and reams of unnecessary
paper from the internet to read later, or carry with us.
Do you really need it? How about printing out emails
some one has sent you to read at home in front of the
TV, or print them off and file, ‘just in case’. We
challenge you only to THINK BEFORE YOU PRINT. By
printing on paper, we are adding to the already huge
burden on the Earth's natural resources.
To keep
the issue top of mind – we ask that anyone with a
website also adds the phrase to the bottom of their
websites (you can link to this page to explain it ), and
to every e-mail that you send out. Its a really small
thing, but it will make people stop and think.
If we
at Antigua Nice Ltd manage your website, and you would
like to add THINK BEFORE YOU PRINT to the bottom of each
page, then please let us know.
No
matter how small it all helps...............
